SheWRITES: The Competition & Festival
Our 2010-11 SheWrites competition is underway, in partnership with the
LARK Play Development Center
in NYC. The purpose of the competition is to provide emerging women playwrights with the
opportunity to develop previously unproduced work and garner national exposure.
As part of the LARK’s Open Access program, Synchronicity received 19 scripts by female playwrights.
An additional 5 plays were added by local playwrights, through
Working Title Playwrights.
Our team of readers culled the scripts down to 6 finalists, being read this May.
Three winners will be selected to join us in our 2010-11 season for our 2011 festival,
where the plays will be developed and public readings will be held.
Join us for SheWRITES 2010 to be among the first audiences exposed to these compelling new works!
