Night/Light - Young Director Series - 2006
An explosive and eclectic dark night series of plays presented
by Amber Bradshaw and Danielle Mindess - two of Atlanta’s up-and-coming directors.
NIGHT/LIGHT 2006 featured the Obie award-winning Icarus’s Mother,
by iconic American playwright Sam Shepard, as well as the award-winning
Tone Clusters, by acclaimed playwright and novelist Joyce Carol Oates.
The evening began with one version of
Your Roaring Blood, a ten-minute play by local playwright
Catherine Trieschmann, and closed with a second version of the same play.
Quite literally a night of light and dark, Night/Light offers an eclectic
grouping of plays, each exploring the range of human responses to the unknown.
Amidst a musically charged backdrop, characters wrestle with fear and search
for hope. Through four varied perspectives, light is shed upon the affects
of fear on our human nature and how these affect and shape our choices in life.
Performed during the run of Voices Underwater.
